I am pleased to announce a special night & show coming up in Toronto @ WRONGBAR. My friend Matt from mattgoingham.com and I are starting a new event in Toronto titled MAPLE SIZZURP, which will be our Southern rap appreciation evening. We couldn’t be luckier to have Hunstville, Alabama’s G-SIDE as guests to kick off a night we’ve been talking about making happen for years. “Sunday, September 26th, 2010 will mark the official launch of a new night hosted by Skratch Bastid and Ghetto Gold Matt, titled “Maple Sizzurp”. Two DJs, longtime friends & obsessed rap fans, they have created an outlet to showcase and celebrate all that they love about Southern Hip-Hop in its many forms and faces. From the ATL, down to the MI-Yayo, across the Delta to Screwston Texas and everywhere in between, they’ll be playing nothing but the finest in country rap tunes.
To celebrate the launch, we’re flying up Huntsville, Alabama’s rising rap stars G-SIDE in their rocket ship. After exciting crowds all across the south to New York, Europe and back to tearing down last years NPR showcase at SXSW, G-SIDE is poised to be the next big act to bubble from the south.
